FlashFX Tera Release: Updated Support for Freescale i.MX6, Linux

Bothell, WA – May 25, 2016 – Datalight Inc., the developer of the most reliable file systems and flash memory drivers for the Industrial Internet of Things, has released the latest version of its market-leading FlashFX Tera product. This release provides updated support for Freescale i.MX6 processors, Linux kernels up through 4.1 and an expanded set of NAND Technology Modules (NTMs) to support a wider range of NAND parts.

FlashFX Tera offers more complete support for the NAND controller inside of the Freescale i.MX6 family of processors, including multiple chip selects on the same DMA channel, and utilizes the DMA to access both MLC and SLC flash memory. These enhancements result in a faster mount time than alternative solutions such as UBIFS.

New support for Linux kernel 4.1 gives customers the flexibility to use FlashFX Tera with devices using more recent versions of Linux. Device manufactures now have a better alternative to open source products on Linux, with award-winning support for faster time to market. Datalight has also expanded the breadth of sample projects by adding support for the Freescale/NXP P1010, providing more flexibility for customers developing their own NTMs.

“Across the breadth of RTOS solutions, FlashFX Tera provides a common interface for device designers,” said Thom Denholm, Datalight’s Technical Product Manager. “This results in future-proofing for our customers. Full support for the i.MX6 NAND controller is a stepping stone for our future designs.”

The product is available immediately from Datalight and its worldwide network of resellers. Existing customers who have current Technical Support and Maintenance Agreements are eligible to receive this version for no additional fee by contacting Logic Technology.
