InsydeH2O® UEFI BIOS Helps Enable Latest Secured-Core PC

TAIPEI, TAIWAN – October 12, 2021 – Insyde® Software, a leading provider of UEFI BIOS and systems management firmware, announced today that its flagship UEFI firmware solution, InsydeH2O® UEFI BIOS, offers full support for the latest Secured-Core PC requirements on the newly released Microsoft® Windows® 11 operating system.

The Secured-core PC is an initiative by Microsoft, PC makers and silicon vendors to protect the integrity of the PC boot process and data stored in memory. Secured-core PCs offer heightened system security by offering hardware, firmware, operating system and identity protection to establish a “defense-in-depth” security strategy that helps prevent a single point of security failure.

New hardened system designs shipping with InsydeH2O and Windows 11 will take advantage of the new improvements to Secured-Core PC security features including System Guard and Device Guard. System Guard protects and maintains the integrity of the platform during boot and run time and will now offer improved SMM (System Management Mode) protection for the latest Intel and AMD platforms. Additionally, enhancements to Device Guard include improved firmware level certificate configuration to enhance security by preventing malicious code from running.

“Our close working relationship with Microsoft and semiconductor partners such as Intel and AMD has us well prepared for enabling the latest security technologies, standards and initiatives,” said James Hsu, Vice President & General Manager of Personal Computing Business Group at Insyde Software. “Our readiness for Windows 11’s new security enhancements is further proof that our customers can rely on our solutions and expertise to deliver highly secure designs to market,” added Hsu
