Introducing the QS91: Secure, Compact, and Full of Connectivity
Ka-Ro Electronics presents the QS91, a solder-down System-on-Module designed to bring
powerful Linux-capable processing to space-constrained embedded applications.
Powered by NXP’s i.MX 91 family, the QS91 features a 1.4 GHz Cortex-A55 core
complemented by 512 MB LPDDR4 RAM and 4 GB eMMC storage, offering a capable
platform for efficient edge computing.
Measuring just 27 × 27 × 2.7 mm, with a dense QFN-style form factor that includes 100 pads
at a 1 mm pitch and an integrated thermal ground pad, this module is built for compact yet
robust system integration .
The QS91 shines in connectivity, offering:
- 2× USB 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet (RGMII)
- eMMC/SD interface, 2× FlexCAN
- 8× UART, 7× I²C, 8× SPI, PWM, SAI, 2× FLEXIO
- ADC (4-channel, 12-bit), tamper detection, and up to 60 GPIOs.
Security is at the core with NXP’s EdgeLock secure enclave—enabling secure boot, tamper
detection, and eFuse key storage, making the QS91 a reliable choice for applications ranging
from medical devices to critical infrastructure.
The QS91 is purpose-built for demanding environments, supporting an operating range of -25
°C to 85 °C, ensuring reliable performance across industrial and IoT use cases.
Fast to prototype, easy to scale—the module is compatible with the QSBASE1 evaluation kit
and guided setup documentation to help users hit the ground running.
Why the QS91 Matters
- Minimal footprint, maximum potential—soldered directly to your board for lightweight, rugged integration
- Full connectivity in one place—ideal for systems demanding rich I/O without bulk
- Built-in security from day one—suitable for embedded applications where safe operation is critical
