Percepio Detect 2026.1 adds native Zephyr RTOS support. Embedded teams can now monitor Zephyr-based systems at runtime, catch anomalies automatically and get a compact trace snapshot or core dump at the exact moment something goes wrong. Logic Technology is a Percepio partner, so you get the tool and the engineering help to put it to work.
What is new in Detect 2026.1
Percepio Detect watches your system while it runs and only captures data when something unusual happens. It does not stream all trace data all the time. As a result, each captured trace snapshot is only a few kilobytes.
- Zephyr RTOS support: runtime monitoring, automatic anomaly detection and trace capture for Zephyr, next to the existing FreeRTOS support. Initial validation was done on popular boards from Nordic Semiconductor and STMicroelectronics.
- TaskMonitor: tracks CPU activity per thread and flags freezes, overloads and timing anomalies that a normal debugger misses.
- Core dumps: capture a core dump for post-mortem debugging, also on demand through a Detect API call on Arm Cortex-M. That keeps the function call stack available for non-fatal errors and warnings, without waiting for a Zephyr fatal error.
- Integrated core dump viewer: inspect the call stack inside Detect, and open the trace snapshot in Tracealyzer for a visual view of kernel events, threads and application logging.
- Ready for CI/CT: built for continuous integration and testing pipelines, with a self-service evaluation download and a ready-to-run demo package.
Why this matters for your Zephyr project
Intermittent faults are the expensive ones. They pass every test, but they do not reproduce on demand and they show up in the field. One Percepio customer ran firmware in continuous integration for weeks with all tests green. However, within hours of enabling Detect, an alert showed that a background communication task occasionally ran far longer than expected. Tracealyzer then showed that clock drift, temperature and I/O jitter could eventually trigger a watchdog reset. Finally, a targeted optimization fixed it before release.
In short, that is the shift from reactive debugging to continuous observability: you verify runtime behavior in every test run and catch near-misses early.
How Logic Technology helps
As Percepio partner, Logic supports you with tool selection and integration, RTOS tracing setup, performance optimization, structured debugging workflows, and training. In addition, our engineers speak your language (NL, EN, DE, FR) and sit in Beek (NL) and Munich (DE).

Does Percepio Detect support Zephyr RTOS?
Yes. Percepio Detect 2026.1 adds native Zephyr RTOS support. It monitors a Zephyr system at runtime, detects anomalies automatically and captures diagnostic trace snapshots and core dumps on the target hardware.
What is Percepio Detect?
Percepio Detect is a runtime monitoring and anomaly detection tool for RTOS-based embedded systems. It captures a compact snapshot only when an anomaly, a custom trigger or a crash occurs, and you analyze that snapshot in Tracealyzer or in the integrated core dump viewer.
Which RTOSes does Detect 2026.1 support?
The 2026.1 release names Zephyr RTOS and FreeRTOS. Zephyr support is new in 2026.1. The Detect 2025.2 release added TaskMonitor and IAR Embedded Workbench support.
What is the difference between Tracealyzer and Detect?
Tracealyzer is for tracing and visual analysis during development. Detect is for automated monitoring and anomaly detection during testing, including CI/CT pipelines. In practice, they work together: Detect finds the moment, Tracealyzer shows the root cause.
Does Detect need a Zephyr fatal error to capture a core dump?
No. On Arm Cortex-M devices you can trigger a core dump and trace snapshot with a Detect API call, so you also get the call stack for non-fatal errors and warnings.
Which boards has Detect for Zephyr been validated on?
Initial validation covers popular development boards from Nordic Semiconductor and STMicroelectronics. However, the solution is designed for a wider range of supported hardware.
How do I try Percepio Detect 2026.1?
Detect 2026.1 is available now, with a self-service evaluation download and a ready-to-run demo package. Contact Logic Technology for an evaluation, advice on setup and help with integration in your Zephyr or FreeRTOS project.
