Spotlight: The QSMP 23 – Edge AI in a Compact Package
We are excited to introduce the QSMP 23, Ka Ro Electronics’ latest low cost, high performance Computer on Module (COM), now available in the compact QSMP family. At its core is the powerful STM32MP235C, featuring dual ARM Cortex A35 cores clocked at 1.2 GHz, paired with a dedicated 400 MHz Cortex M33 microcontroller, making it a great choice for Industry 4.0 and edge AI applications.
Despite its small 27 × 27 mm square footprint and slim 2.6 mm profile, the QSMP 23 delivers impressive performance. It offers 1 GB LPDDR4 RAM, 4 GB eMMC storage, and a 0.6 TOPS NPU for efficient AI and machine learning processing. The module also supports advanced multimedia and vision applications with its GPU, HD 60 fps video pipeline, and dual MIPI CSI camera inputs.
Connectivity options are extensive: dual USB 2.0 with PHYs, dual Gigabit Ethernet, and multiple UART, I²C, SPI, PWM, SAI, and CAN interfaces. Designed for demanding industrial environments, it supports a wide temperature range from –40 °C to +85 °C and benefits from enhanced EMC and thermal optimization. It is also supported by Ka Ro’s Yocto “Scarthgap” build with full source toolchain and documentation.
