Spotlight: The TX91 – Tiny Plug-In Powerhouse
We are pleased to introduce the TX91, the newest addition from our partner Ka Ro Electronics to the TX plug-in Computer-on-Module (COM) family. At its core, it features the NXP i.MX 91, powered by a 1.4 GHz ARM Cortex-A55 processor with an integrated EdgeLock secure enclave for enhanced security.
Compact yet sturdy, the module measures 68 × 26 × 4 mm, fitting onto standard SODIMM carriers, about the size of a credit card Despite its small footprint, it delivers 512 MB LPDDR4 RAM, 4 GB eMMC storage, and supports display output via 24-bit RGB.
Connectivity is extensive and flexible: Dual USB 2.0 with PHY, 10/100 Ethernet with PHY, optional Gigabit Ethernet via RGMII, two CAN, SD/eMMC, plus multiple serial interfaces—8 UART, 7 I²C, and 8 SPI. The module runs reliably in industrial environments across a temperature range from -25 °C to +85 °C and accepts a 3.3 to 5 V supply.
True to the TX family philosophy, the TX91 emphasises longevity and scalability, with a minimal onboard component design that allows engineers to build modular and future-proof systems.
Compact, powerful, adaptable, and built to last: the TX91 is ideally suited for industrial gateways, smart edge devices, advanced HMI, machine vision, building automation, and more.
