QSRZ Solder-Down SoM

The QSRZ is a QFN Style Solder-Down Computer On Module. The module with a small square size of 27mm and a height of 2.7mm is single-sided assembled. Its QFN type lead style has a 1mm pitch with 100 pads. The ground pad additionally acts as thermal pad.

Renesas RZ/G2 and RZ/V2 microprocessors are the only embedded MPUs that meet the long-term support demands for industrial and infrastructure equipment manufacturers through the 10+ year support offered by the Super Long Term Support (SLTS) kernel maintained by the Civil Infrastructure Platform (CIP). The CIP SLTS Linux kernel supports countermeasures against vulnerability to security attacks with a long-term maintenance period of 10 years or more.

Pre-programmed

All modules will be shipped with a pre-programmed bootloader by default. To speed up the production process, the modules can also be pre-programmed to customer specifications. JEDEC version 5.0 introduces “Production State Awareness” to help avoid possible data corruption during soldering. Only a predefined part of the whole device’s available space can be supported by this feature.

The RZ/G2L microprocessor includes a Cortex®-A55 (1.2GHz) CPU, 16-bit DDR3L/DDR4 interface, 3D graphics engine with Arm® Mali-G31 and video codec (H.264). It also has many interfaces such as camera input, display output, USB 2.0, and Gbit-Ether, making it ideal for applications such as entry-class industrial human-machine interfaces (HMIs) and embedded devices with video capabilities.
